Workshop 3 Montage-it! Submission
Day time |
The feeling i wanted to create from the surrounding environment was 'lively'. I added quite a number of people walking, talking and carrying out their day as to bring out that feeling. The model acts as a community building in an open space.
Atmospheric/Night time |
I wanted to bring out a dramatic feel by toning down the brightness and levelling up the contrast. I added multiple trees and birds to enhance the feel of the environment and also to add variations to avoid the overall presentation to be too monotenous.
Both of these background pictures are taken by me in Singleton.

Montage-it! Images
Initially i chose Google imgaes(above) for my presentation. Then i remembered i had some photos i took of my own from a trip i went a couple of years ago in Singleton. So i went and took a chance in using my own photographs as background of my final presentation poster.
Workshop 3 Montage-it! Concept Model
The concept of my model is inspired by Edward Hopper's corner pub painting. I noticed that one of his signature style in all his paintings is that it is incomplate in a sense that he does not paint the full picture. He takes one element and enhance it to an extent that it becomes the main understanding of the image.
I took Hopper's corner pub painting and manipulated the hidden context as my concept model. I added different levels to add dynamicity. More spaces to show variations. The corner pub shown in the painting is the center space directly in the middle of my model.
A roof was added to enable my model to look more like a building rather than just a model. A thin rectangular was cut from the geometric side of the model to portray natural lightings coming into the building space.
