Best Piece of Creative Work
My best piece of work is called Sulphur Crested Cuckatoo. This design was for my final design light project for UNSW Foundations in Design last year. The objective was to choose any iconic figure of Australia and express any distinctive part of it creatively and unique as a wall light, table light or a floor light. My table light design above represents the yellow crest of the cuckatoo being stretched and repeated all around the circular structural inner translucent base form. The main materials are yellow tracing paper and the basic material which is the structure underneath the tracing papers is polypropelene.
Great Architecture
This image shows a building called the Petronas Twin Towers or KLCC located at the heart of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur which is the capital state. The skyscrapers were completed in 1998 after a seven year build and became the tallest buildings in the world on the date of completion until 2004. The building consists if more than 88 floors. The geometrical flower shaped cross section which only can be seen top down was designed to resemble motifs found in Islamic art, a reflection of Malaysia's Muslim religion. The materials used are mainly steel, super high-strength reinforced concrete and glass. One of the films held was Entrapment(1999) starring Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Something Beautiful
My definition of something beautiful is the moment and time where this shot was taken. The location is in Kingsford at 8.20AM during winter, 2010. This picture shows the morning sun just starting to rise behind the UNSW library building. The blinding, but not impossible to look at, rays of the sun enhances the outlook of the picture. What makes this picture beautiful is the focus of the sun with the contrasting clear blue sky and the silhouette of the urban buildings.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
